Steve
Checksfield

Steve attended the State University of Albany where he holds the single season records in Homeruns, RBI’s and runs saved.  He was named the Rookie of the Year in 1998 and was the College Athlete of the Year in 2001.  He was drafted by the Houston Astro’s in the 12th round in 2001.  He played 3 ½ years with them making it to Double –A.  There he was named the Mid-West League All-Star and was the MVP of the Mid-West All-star game.  He left the Astros for a Double A Independent team in New Jersey.  Here he was second in the league with triples(9) and was top 15 in every offensive category.  Steve has been an instructor in Hitting, Fielding and Pitching for more than 15 years.

Virgil
Chevalier

Virgil was all state in football, basketball, and baseball at Niwot High School,

Boulder, CO. He attended Seminole State College, OK before signing with Boston in 1995.  He played 9 professional seasons, 7 with the Boston Red Sox and 2 with the N.Y. Mets.  Virgil amassed 3,512 professional at bats with a life time batting average of .274.  He played in over 200 professional games as a catcher, outfielder and infielder. Virgil was inducted into the Albany Twilight League hall of fame in 2011.

He has 12 years of coaching experience and specializes in:

Billy
Creighton

Billy graduated from Christian Brothers Academy in 2009.  He began his baseball career at Schenectady County Community College as a two-way player (pitcher and catcher).  He was named 1st team All-Conference catcher and 2nd team All-Region catcher.  His sophomore year he was named 1st team All-Conference Pitcher with a .91 Era and a career batting average of .394.  He was named to the 2011 and 2012 NJCAA All American First Team, 2011 Region III Division III Player of the Year and SCCC 2011 and 2012 Student Athlete of the Year.  Played at Division I UNC Asheville his 2012 and 2013 season where he led the team in RBI (32) and was second in home runs (6)…Tied for lead in doubles (10)…Third in batting average (.306)…Fourth in slugging percentage (.481). He was named Big South Player of the Week for the week of 2/20/12.  He finished his senior year with a 2.62 ERA

He currently plays in the Albany Twilight league where was was just named the 2014 League M.V.P.

Dominick
LeMorta

Dom played at Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons High School and was named to the Big Ten 1st team as a senior.  He played at Division 1 Wagner College in Staten Island.  He played for the Schenectady Mohawks and was a two-time NCBL All-Star.  Dom Played for the Albany Twilight League for 9 years.  There he was named a four-time Twilight League All-Star.  He coached two years at Niskayuna High School and has been an instructor at Doug O’Brey Baseball Academy.  Dom has coached youth baseball for over 10 years and has managed 6 District 12 championship teams. Prior to being the current Co-Owner of Upstate Premier Sports, Dom was an instructor at Hit n Run Sports for 3 years.
